Ms. Jetty Maika, ARAD – RAD RTS

Principal

Ms Jetty Maika started ballet since she was 6 years old in Namarina Dance Academy, one of the well known Ballet school in Indonesia. 10 years later, she finished the highest level in Ballet, and was given the title of Associate of Royal Academy of Dance. She was recognized as one of the the 1st Indonesians who finished the highest level of Ballet, at that time. Since then, she danced main roles in many of the repertoires in Indonesia until 2006. After she graduated from high school, she started to teach in Namarina Dance Academy. In 1987 Ms Jetty was entrusted by Namarina Dance Academy as their Head of Ballet Department, for 12 years. She contributed 22 years in Namarina Dance Academy as a Senior Ballet Teacher.

She has so many experience both as a dancer and an educator. She has been working with many choreographers in many countries. Back in 2003 she was a guest teacher in OKH Ballet Centre, Singapore. In 2006, she became a Ballet Teacher in Sri Wilayah Ballet Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for 6 years.

In February 2016, she finished her Music Course held by Royal Academy of Dance. And currently she is participating in a Digital CME/CEU Certificate Course of Principles of Dance Medicine Clinical Management of the Dancer Patient, NYU.

“Bertahan di Ujung Pointe” was her first book that was published in 2014. Her latest experience was becoming the first of two Ballet Mistresses of Indonesian Youth Ensemble, initiated by The West Australian Ballet, supported by The Australian Embassy in Jakarta, and facilitated by Ballet.id, in June – August 2016 and June 2019.
